I was born and raised In Cape Town and attended Rondebosch Boys High School where I was a boarder. As a result I grew up pretty outdoorsy and spent most of my childhood either on a cricket field or a rugby one. My hobbies are pretty body focust. Body weight workouts with resistance band work, I do on a daily. Road running has also become a short of meditation state for me. I really enjoy off road motor cross riding, the on the edge aspect always excites me , anything water related has always fascinated me.

How did you get scouted?

I started modelling after I finished high school. Being able to set out and travel Europe as a young man from Cape Town was an opportunity I just couldn’t refuse. I was scouted in the gym , while recovering from a knee injury. Doing my rehab and so on. I was trying to put some muscle back on and my now Agent Tuomas Ahonen, well basically he said stop. Get leaner and lets put you to work.

Who are the models you aspire(d) to?

That’s a tough one, I’ve always looked up to Will Chalker and on the other side think Naomi was the fiercest to ever do it.

What would be your dream modelling job?

I don’t really have a set goal job. A fragrance campaign, that is a tipping of the hat moment for any model.

In an industry that is based on appearances, how do you handle negative comments and rejection?

I have the luxury of having mates that tear me apart on a daily, and growing up in boarding school gave me a fairly thick skin. I think my only trick I suppose is knowing that we all have different taste and not being bothered by you not always being that taste. It sounds cheesy but you got to work hard at caring less what people think.

From your perspective, how do you think the fashion industry can improve?

I mean there’s always room for improvement in any industry. I like the direction of longer lasting and more sustainable products and I only hope quality and lifespan continues to improve.

What’s your favourite project/shoot you’ve done so far?

The next one.

Tell us something we wouldn’t know by looking at your portfolio?

I come across as pretty stern in my portfolio but I’m a little bit of a clown , it’s not often I don’t have a huge smile I’m laughing behind spread across my face.

What’s your favourite feature? (Physical or character)

I honestly like my profiles, feels good to say that haha

What’s you motto in life.

Laughter and liquor, best served together
