Tobias Reuter

Instagram influencer, model and entrepreneur Tobias Reuter, was born in Germany in September 1994. Tobias is represented by PRM Agency and Two Management.  Earlier this year Tobias and his girlfriend, Yara Sophie, launched their luxury jewellery and lifestyle brand Angels and Sinner. He divides his time between Dusseldorf and London.

We caught up with the super handsome Tobias earlier this month to discuss his modelling career, social media and his new project. This is what he had to say.

Welcome to Chromatica, When did you start modelling? How did it all start?

I started modelling in 2016. I was way bigger back then because I was into natural bodybuilding, so when I tried to get into modelling which was my dream for a long time, I wasn’t sure if I could ever make it. I was really lucky that I got scouted via Facebook and invited to Hamburg where I signed with PMA Models. My first client ever was ASOS..

What has been your most important modelling job so far and which one has been the most fan or?

I’ve had a lot of great jobs for example for Adidas, Boss, Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger. But it’s Not about the brand or the editorial or client. For me it’s about the environment and the people that I am working with.

One of the most fun jobs was when I did a shoot with a cheetah and a zebra in South Africa…. I am glad they didn’t use lions as I wouldn’t have the balls haha…

What has been the most valuable lesson you have gained throughout your modelling career to date? What would be the dream job?

I’ve learned that work can be fun and fulfilling. Now it is a valuable part in my life, whereas before “work” was something I had to do just for the money because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to pay my rent and food. Through modelling I have met a lot of inspirational people and most of them love their job. Where I’m from 70-80% of people work just for the money and not because they are passionate about their jobs. I would say modeling is my dream job.

You’ve lived in the UK, and Germany. Which country do you prefer and why? Where do you feel like home?

I actually can’t decide. I love so much about Düsseldorf but as well so much about London. It’s a great balance to travel between both. Düsseldorf is a small city in comparison to London. But it’s my hometown and I have made great memories there. London is where my career began and I made a lot of great memories and friendst here too. So I can’t decide. But I feel more at home in Germany as that’s where my family is.

You have travelled allover the world, if you could be teleported to one place where would that be?

I would teleport myself to Los Angeles. I used to live there and during this period it was very warm and summery. I am more of a summer person. But for a holiday I would prefer Costa Rica as it was so adventurous.

You are also a successful Instagram influencer with more than 740K followers. How much work and effort did it take to reach such an audience?

I’ve been on Instagram for almost 5 years and I am posting every second day. I used to post every day but it was hard to produce daily high qualitycontent. I’ve been doing stories for 3 years now without any break. Maybe I should start to take a social media free week. But, all in all, I love to work with Instagram as I met so many great people and brands.

Can you give to the future or growing influencers few tips on how to grow their audience?

Be yourself, you’re unique and that’s your power. Try to show it naturally to your audience every day. They will be happy to be part of your narrative. Be honest and the people will see it and respect you.

How easy was it to monetize on your success and how can you organically integrate sponsored content in your profile?

It wasn’t always easy as I wanted to collaboarate with the right brands. I get requests every single day but not every brand is the right for my profile.

As an influencer, do you work alone or is there someone who helps you with content creation?

My girlfriend @yaraline is taking part in a lot of things. We have our own influencer agency and our own jewellery label Angels and Sinner. She’s taking most of my pictures. We’re a great team and always trying to reach the next level with the quality of our content.

How much did the pandemic affect you?

The modeling work slowed down a lot but the online business is doing very well. Building our own brand was a great decision. I started offering Lightroom presets and it’s going very well, too. It’s still going to be my best year yet, but at the cost of a lot of nerves. I try to see always the positive aspects of a hard situation, it gives a 360 degree view instead of a limited one.

Tell us a bit about the concept of your men’s jewellery brand Angels and Sinner, How did u come up with the name?

I guess we wanted it to sound pretty cool. Really exiting. It should stay in your head and it still should be simple. Just like our jewelry.

I really hope to create a jewellery brand that would appeal to people not because it’s me but rather because they love the design and quality. It has been a dream for years to create my own brand but I wasn’t sure until last year.

Where can we buy your jewellery?

You can buy it for now only online at www.angelsandsinner.com but we want to get into retail stores. We already had some requests from stores that would love to represent our brand. So stay tuned!

Lastly, how do you keep fit on the go?

I try to at least do push ups, crunches and for me the most important thing on the go is stretching! I used to have a lot of headaches and I sometimes didn’t feel well and it was due to the tension in my whole body. Stretching is the key. If you’re able to do yoga, even better.

And what is your motto in life?

Stay positive and be nice to everyone. It might sounds easy and a bit cheesy but it’s one of the reasons why I am successful in what I’m doing. You literally attract the right people and vibe. If you live this way you will have less weight on your shoulders and less drama.
