Oxidation

Oxidation may be defined as the chemical process in which a substance gains oxygen or loses electrons and hydrogen.

For this sculptural photo study I drew inspiration in the colour gamma created through the oxidation of metals and more specifically metals used in sculptures such as bronze, copper and brass. This effect was created by combining two lights with petrol and deep purple filters set against a background lit by acid yellow and red filtered lights for maximum contrast and impact.
