Giuseppe started his career on the Italian talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi” winning a scholarship to study at the Millennium Dance Complex in LA. Soon after, he landed his first gig at X-Factor UK. In 2014 he moved to LA to follow his dreams and signed with McDonald Selzinick Associates (MSA) Agency. In 2015, he was booked for his first international tour as a backup dancer for he American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her 1989 World Tour which led to numerous music video appearances. He toured again with Taylor on her “Reputation” Stadium Tour in 2018. In 2019, he was booked for the Britney Spears “Domination” tour- right after he was asked to join the “Its my party” world tour with Jennifer Lopez , celebrating the diva’s 50th birthday around the world.

Let’s go back… how did it all start, when did you start dancing?

I started around the age of 7. My mom was watching me dance and run in the house so she signed me up to a dance studio. That’s where everything happened. I was always dancing , always!  I remember watching dancers on tv and imagined myself being one of them, I literally believed and projected myself on that tv screen.

Can you describe your style of dancing?

My style is commercial, jazz funk meets hip hop :)

You moved to Los Angeles, hoping to work with Britney Spears…

Correct, dancing for Britney was always my biggest dream. Britney’s music makes me move like nobody else’s, I remember watching TRL and Mtv waiting for that performance of Britney singing toxic.

I’ve been a Britney fan for a while and when I finally achieved that dream of mine being next to her and dancing with her, I couldn’t believe it! that was me and this time was real, I got chills right now talking about it because I still can’t believe it.

I will be forever grateful to my family because thanks to them, I’m here today.

When was the moment you realised, this is it… I’ve reached my goals?

Touring with Taylor Swift was my first big gig in Los Angeles but if I have to say the moment I realised that I achieved my goal was when I got that call and my agent said YOU BOOKED BRTNEY SPEARS! I was shocked and I fell on my knees crying. Not to be over dramatic, but that is the truth , and if you really know me… booking Britney was my biggest dream!

You have an amazing resume of collaborations from Jennifer Lopez to Taylor Swift… what is next for you? What would be the next dream job?

Dancing on tour again this is my dream for now, during these hard times it’s so hard not being able to do what really makes me feel alive. Being on tour is one of my favourite things. Seeing the faces of the people in the audience gives me so much energy and I feel alive and grateful.

Can you share any anecdotes or stories from behind the scenes?

Every experience is different with different stories for sure. For example with Taylor Swift, I really loved how before we went on stage we would huddle all together and every single one of us every night had a speech . That was really something beautiful, just before you hit the stage, hearing what everyone had to say.

What has been the best and the worst on stage experience you’ve had?

The best is definitely being on a stadium tour in front of 80.000 people , and I really loved touring Australia.

Performing in the rain can be tricky. However the Salt Lake city show was a hard one because of the high altitude. We even had oxygen canisters backstage that we used all the time be able to breath lol

I don’t really have bad experiences to be honest, I’m really grateful for everything I have done.

You have traveled around the world and have seen so many places, which city or country would you revisit and why?

Australia definitely, loooooooved Japan too, because it’s a very unique place in the world. I have been there a few times and I love the people and culture. One of the dancers that I work with, is actually from Tokyo and he is such a lovely and amazing guy, he has taught me a lot as a dancer and as a person.

How badly have you been effected by this pandemic?

Pretty bad to be honest, as a dancer that works on stage tours, not being able to perform and hear the crowd screaming is definitely something that I miss .

The pandemic affected lots of dancers like me and other artists, it’s a rough time , people have no jobs since March of 2020 and this is something terrible. We live for our passion and most studios and venues around the world are shut because of this. It is so hard right now to have a passion and not being able to share it and live it at 100%.

With no shows or tours happening, how are you keeping busy during this time?

I have been woking on a few things and a few projects are in the making……

I am forever grateful for the people and opportunities who came into my life during this uncertain time…

Apart from dancing and practicing how do you keep fit?

I work out a lot and I recently started CrossFit, being in a room with highly motivated people helps me and my mental health to be honest .

What advise would you give to your younger self and to people starting out?

Keep dreaming , keep working hard and if you have a dream keep and focus on that dream.

Mine became true and I’m from a small town in Calabria south of Italy and I made it happen.

YOU CAN TOO!

What is your motto in life?

“It’s Britney Bitch”…. always !
